A Bag of Rice: A Christmas Gift That Transformed a Family A widow named Meena with her three young children lives in a small village called kukunur. Meena’s husband had passed away unexpectedly a few years earlier, leaving her to provide for her family alone. Every day was a struggle. Meena worked tirelessly as a daily laborer, earning just enough to scrape together one meal for her children. Despite her efforts, hunger was a constant companion in their home, and the approaching Christmas season only made their situation harder. On Christmas Eve 2023, while many families prepared feasts and celebrations, Meena’s house was quiet. The children sat in the dim light, trying to stifle their hunger with sips of water. Hand Mikes: Hand mikes are very effective in reaching out to people who are far away. Especially as native missionaries are sharing the gospel in rice fields, fishing lakes, workspaces, and outdoors, oftentimes it is hard to reach out with their voice. Not many people are able to hear them and understand what they are talking about. These hand mikes will help missionaries to reach out more people with good news. As most of our native missionaries are sharing good news outdoors, these hand mikes can powerful tool to reach many. 2. Motor Bikes: Motorbikes are powerful tools to carry the gospel to many villages. As missionaries travel to several villages to pray for the sick and encourage the body of Christ motorbikes are very helpful for traveling quickly and safely even where there are no roads. Increased Persecution of Native Missionaries & Our Prayer Needs Over the past month, our native missionaries in remote regions have faced intensified persecution. In several areas, hostility toward the Gospel has risen sharply—ranging from tension with local authorities to social ostracism and direct threats to their safety and families. Please join us in praying: For protection—that God shields their bodies, minds, and spirits. For courage and resilience—that despite fear, they continue boldly. For favor among communities—that the love of Christ prevails over suspicion and opposition. Floods, Sickness & Our Medical Teams: Loving Villages Through Healing As the monsoon season begins, floods have struck many vulnerable regions, causing damage, displacing families, and spreading illness. In response, our medical teams are traveling to remote villages, offering free medical care and expressing the love of Jesus through healing and compassion. These teams are often the only healthcare providers people will see all year. How one camp makes a difference: A single medical camp can treat 350–500 people in one day. Patients receive vital services—checkups, medication, diagnosis, and prayer. Many hear the Gospel through compassionate care, often for the first time. Manipur Crises Donate today Donate Help Provide Relief The region of Manipur India has become a battleground where a conflict, which initially spanned three months, has now escalated into a near civil war between two distinct religious communities. The deep religious divide has led to a distressing situation where believers are being coerced to abandon their faith in Jesus. Faced with imminent danger, many are fleeing their homes in search of safety. Tragically, the toll of this crisis includes the loss of 130 lives, with a staggering 60,000 individuals, including men, women, and vulnerable children, left displaced. Adding to the devastation, more than 250 places of worship, among them 65 of our own, have been subjected to vandalism and destruction. In light of these dire circumstances, we have initiated emergency relief efforts to provide assistance to the victims, irrespective of their social status, beliefs, or faith.
